Costa AlmeriaCosta Almeria - The Unhurried Coast
Almeria is Andalucia’s most easterly region, and with more
cloudless skies than any other part of Spain it is the
sunniest and driest.
The diverse landscape is quite rugged, even semi desert in
parts. Other areas boast lively coastal towns and charming
villages, extensive orange and almond groves and over 17 km of
stunning “Blue Flag” beaches with crystal clear waters. The
natural park at Cabo de Gato is one of the most visited in
Span.

Almeria offers a great alternative to the busy lifestyle
evident in the more established regions. It remains largely
unspoilt with no high rise developments; investor buyers and
families can still enjoy real value for money.
Almeria first came to prominence in the 60’s; many classics
were filmed here including Lawrence of Arabia and The Good,
the Bad and the Ugly. It also served as the Hollywood
backdrop for Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade!
Almeria City is a large, modern cathedral city; with its
fantastic choice of sporting facilities including
paragliding, sailing, horse riding, windsurfing, golf, etc,
it hosted the Mediterranean Games in 2005. The challenging
Indiana golf course at Desert Springs, near Mojacar, is
extremely popular with experienced golfers.
Mojacar, one of the most cosmopolitan towns in the region,
is only an hour’s drive from Murcia and 10 minutes from the
popular Acquatico Park. Almerimar is just over an hour from
the beautiful ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range
whilst Vera, popular for its fantastic cuisine has the only
nudist hotel in Spain!
With an increasing choice of low cost flights, the recent
influx of buyers and generous government subsidies to
develop the infrastructure, Costa Almeria is now
experiencing a familiar pattern of growth.
